US Passport is here!!!

YAY!!! Sakari's US Passport is here!!! We are SO EXCITED!!! Since we are traveling to Peru in just a few weeks...YAY!!

Look everybody...my passport!!

Really...LOOK...my PASSPORT!

Look at her 2 passports...notice the difference in her two pics...SO CUTE!

For all you other adopting parents...all you need to apply is the full and final adoption decree from your state (with any legal name changes and has to have the raised seal), the permanent residence card...and that is it...we sent a copy of our Ethiopian adoption decree, it wasn't really required but the lady at the post office said the more info the better.  They didn't give us any trouble at all for what we needed...if you print off the passport app online with the directions it has what you need for applicants born abroad and #4 has specifics for people who have been adopted.  Hope that helps! YAY for US PASSPORT!! :0)

Always showing off, dang it! We're totally behind in denial that we have readoption work to do. How I ever got this child adopted to begin with is beyond me!

High fives to the king and queen of paperwork!

Wow, the differences in the pictures are huge. She has grown so much. Just think how much she'll have changed by the time you'll have to renew the passport. Have a great trip!

With Love,

Yep, #4 is the key! Our post office gave us a hard time (because he thought we needed the Certificate of Citizenship), but I jumped over the counter and twisted his arm until he agreed to send it for me. It all worked out nicely and our little guy's passport came while we were on vacation last week. No news on how things turned out with the post man's arm though. :(

Congratulations! I'm sure you're sighing a big sigh of relief to have it in hand before your upcoming trip! It'll be great to hear of your big adventure with Sakari along for the ride!
